2024-2025 Experience MedTech Internships – Student Call for Applications

Applications are NOW OPEN for the MedTech Talent Accelerator September 2024, January 2025, and May 2025 cohorts of the Experience MedTech program. The submission deadline is August 2^nd, 2024 (11:59 PM EST).

This NSERC-CREATE program trains a select group of graduate students to be industry-ready for the Canadian MedTech sector. It helps students secure their first R&D internship in the MedTech industry as they complete their Master’s or Ph.D. programs.

This program is open to Toronto Metropolitan University (Formerly known as Ryerson) and McGill graduate students in any program related to MedTech (Computer Science/Engineering and Applied Mathematics, students interested in Digital Health, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), AI/ML in MedTech), Biomedical Engineering graduate students at the University of Calgary and Dalhousie University, and Medical Biophysics students at the University of Toronto. Who should apply to the Experience MedTech program?

1. Be currently enrolled as a graduate student at Toronto Metropolitan University (Formerly known as Ryerson) and McGill University (in any MedTech-related program of study), Biomedical Engineering graduate student at the University of Calgary and Dalhousie University, and Medical Biophysics student at the University of Toronto.
2. Completed their coursework requirements and research, and will be in the writing phase of your thesis by:
   a) August 31^st, 2024, to take on a full-time R&D internship with a MedTech company starting September 1^st, 2024, for a 4-month or 8-month period (confirmed with your supervisor) or,
   b) December 31^st, 2024, to take on a full-time R&D internship with a MedTech company starting January 2^nd, 2025, for a 4-month or 8-month period (confirmed with your supervisor) or,
   c) April 30^th, 2025, to take on a full-time R&D internship with a MedTech company starting May 1^st, 2025, for a 4-month or 8-month period (confirmed with your supervisor),
3. Be ready to accept interviews and internships offered by our MedTech company partners.

• Note: students are allowed to decline a maximum of TWO interview requests and a maximum of ONE internship offer with full justification. After this, the MedTech Talent Accelerator reserves the right to withdraw the student’s application from the Experience MedTech program.
