Master’s of Engineering (non-thesis) in BBME – Biomanufacturing concentration

In 2022, the co-supervising Departments of Biological & Biomedical Engineering recently launched the McGill Master’s of Engineering (M. Eng) in Biological and Biomedical Engineering (non-thesis) – biomanufacturing concentration.
The program extensive learning activities delivered by world-renowned scientists and professors. Students who graduate from the program form part of the unique opportunity to contribute to novel healthcare solutions from a manufacturing and engineering perspective, addressing the need to enhance Canada’s biomanufacturing excellence and pandemic readiness.
The program will provide students with:
- Advanced knowledge and competencies in the rapidly evolving fields of biological and biomedical engineering.
- Hands-on experience through projects carried out during internships to establish a solid foundation of competencies required for professional activities in the Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences sector, including agility, adaptability, teamwork, responsibility and life-long learning.
Quick facts about the program:
- Two (2) semesters of coursework focusing on bioprocess engineering, bioreactor design, purification, analytics, good manufacturing practice, and legal and ethical aspects.
- Eight (8) month internship in leading biotech firms that manufacture products such as vaccines, cell therapies, delivery systems and more.
