About the speakers:

Dr. Jason Robert Guertin is an Associate Professor in Economic Evaluation of Health Technologies at Université Laval, Director of the short master-level program in Economic Evaluation of Health Technologies and a Researcher at the CHU de Québec-Université Laval research center and Université Laval’s Tissue Engineering Laboratory (LOEX). His research program, supported via an FRQS Chercheur-boursier Junior 2 award (2023-2027), aims to support the economic evaluation of various regenerative medicine technologies using real-world cost-effectiveness analyses. In addition to his academic appointment, he is the Director of the Réseau ThéCell’s Economic Infrastructure in Regenerative Medicine and the Director of the RQRM’s (Réseau québécois de recherche sur les medicaments) Pharmacoeconomics Axis, two of the FRQS’s thematic research networks, and acts as a consultant in Health Economics for the Institut d’excellence en santé et des services sociaux (INESSS) and other health technology assessment agencies.

Simon Lafrance, PT, PhD. Postdoctoral fellow at the Université Laval. Dr. Lafrance earned his masters in Physical Therapy (2016) at McGill University and his PhD in Rehabilitation Science (2024) at Université de Montréal. His research interests involve the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, the evaluation of advanced practice physiotherapy models of care and health economics evaluations. In addition to his roles in the academia, Dr. Lafrance continues to work as a clinician on a weekly basis.
