MRM Student Seminar Series – Part I: GCI

Goodman Cancer Institute

The MRM Student Seminar Series is a new initiative launched by the MRM Trainee Committee to provide a platform for trainees to present their innovative research, exchange scientific insights, and build collaborative networks within the regenerative medicine community. This recurring event aims to highlight the exceptional work of MRM Trainees, foster knowledge-sharing, and strengthen connections among members.

For this first edition, we are excited to feature presentations from MRM members of the Goodman Cancer Institute (GCI), including a keynote talk by Dr. Katie Cockburn, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and GCI. The event will also showcase 15-minute presentations from MRM Trainees, followed by engaging 5-minute Q&A sessions:

  • Tianxu Fang – Ph.D. Candidate, Chen Lab
Bioresponsive and immunotherapeutic nanomaterials to remodel tumor microenvironment for enhanced immune checkpoint blockade
  • Ève M. Gauthier – Ph.D. Candidate, Melichar Lab
Influence of thymic beta selection on T cell function
  • Andrew Dayton – Undergraduate Student, Melichar Lab
Characterizing preTCR signals for T cell development in a dish
  • Keerthana Harwalkar – Ph.D. Candidate, Yamanaka Lab
A tale of two oviducts – anatomical and cellular heterogeneity along the mouse oviduct epithelium

Following the talks, join us for a one-hour networking session with light refreshments in the GCI 5th floor atrium. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to learn, connect, and exchange ideas with peers and colleagues in the field of regenerative medicine!
