SCN From Vision to Value: Leveraging Health Economics to Maximize the Translational Potential of Your Research

Online

Join the Stem Cell Network for the webinar “From Vision to Value: Leveraging Health Economics to Maximize the Translational Potential of Your Research” on February 24, 2025 (French) and February 26, 2025 (English).

Led by Dr. Jason Robert Guertin, an expert in health economics from Université Laval, and Dr. Lucie Germain, a renowned regenerative medicine professor at Université Laval, this 70-minute session will explore the critical role of health economics in research translation.

Many researchers face challenges incorporating economic considerations into their strategies for advancing research from the lab to clinical trials and widescale application. This webinar will provide tools and insights to bridge this gap.

Through the lens of a hypothetical project, “Project X”, attendees will explore the health economic factors to consider at each stage of a regenerative medicine project. Topics will include transitioning from lab work to clinical trials, navigating the translational pathway, and understanding the real-world impact of economic considerations on research success.

Additionally, participants will learn about key agencies and research groups relevant to regenerative medicine researchers.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Identify Key Economic Considerations: Understand critical cost factors and economic models at various stages of research translation.
  • Apply Health Economics to Project Planning: Integrate economic principles into project design to enhance scalability and viability within healthcare systems.
  • Incorporate Patient and Societal Perspectives: Evaluate patient outcomes and societal impact to demonstrate the broader value of regenerative therapies.
