PhD Position in Stem Cell Biology and Regeneration Medicine

A PhD position is currently available for highly motivated individuals with an interest in stem cell biology, regeneration medicine, degenerative disease, inflammatory disorders, DNA damage response, single-cell genomics, epigenetics, bioinformatics and CRISPRCas9
technologies. The position will be located in the laboratory of Dr. Arshad Ayyaz (www.ayyazlab.ca) who is using the mammalian intestine, several in vivo and in vitro 3D organoid models and state-of-the-art single cell ‘omics and genome editing techniques to uncover the mechanisms of tissue regeneration, adaptations in stem cells to cytotoxic stress and the process of initiation and progression of human disease (Ayyaz et al., 2019, Nature; Baghdadi et al., 2021, Cell Stem Cell; Ayyaz et al., 2017, F1000Research; Ayyaz et al., 2015, Nature Cell Biology). The student will work in a highly collaborative, inclusive and multidisciplinary research environment and will be able to closely interact with geneticists, microbiologists, clinician scientists and bioinformaticians.
