Results of the MRM Internal Funding Spring 2021 Competition

The MRM Network is pleased to announce the results of the Spring 2021 MRM Internal Funding Competition.

The MRM Internal Funding supports research that seeks novel forward-looking insights and discovery into a basic understanding of stem cells biology, which ultimately translate into novel technologies and regenerative medicine. It aims at facilitating the use of the numerous quality platforms built across McGill University by funding pilot research projects using these MRM-affiliated core facilities.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the 3 Awardees:

Dr. Colin Crist, Department of Human Genetics, Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research (LDI) for his project: Promoting Muscle Repair by Pharmacological Inhibition of eIF2(alpha) Dephosphorylation involving the LDI Cell Imaging Facility, the LDI Flow Cytometry Facility and the Small Animal Research Core.

Prof. Terry Hébert, Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, for his project: Signalling and morphological characterization of hypertrophic responses in rat primary and human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, involving the Advance BioImaging Facility (ABIF).

Prof. James Martin, Department of Medicine, McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), for his project: Effect of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells in the HOCL-induced model of Systemic Sclerosis, involving the RI-MUHC Small Animal Imaging Labs (SAIL).

We would like to congratulate all the winners and participants in this competition and to extend the warmest thanks to the members of the Funding & Infrastructure Committee for their evaluation of all the applications.
