Meet the new MRM Director

The MRM Network is happy to announce that Pr. Terry Hébert has become the director of MRM starting as of January 1st, 2022. Terry is a professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He studies the assembly of GPCR signalling complexes, the presence and function of such complexes on the nuclear membrane, and new roles for G proteins as transcriptional regulators. A new focus for his lab is using disease-in-a-dish, patient-derived iPSC models to understand cardiovascular disease and neurodevelopmental disorders one patient at a time. He has served in the MRM executive committee since 2019 and has chaired its Education Committee since its inception. He hopes to take the MRM in some interesting new directions, build its research and education programs while supporting and growing the amazing work already being done by our faculty and students! His two-year mandate is to pursue the development of regenerative medicine at McGill University and affiliated hospital research institutes. In addition, his mandate is to promote the visibility of McGill regenerative medicine community locally and nationally.

“I am humbled and honoured to help drive RM research at McGill. The pieces are all here laid in front of me. I will do my best to help put the puzzle together.”

The MRM would like to extend its warmest thanks to Prof. Michel Tremblay for his unwavering commitment, vision and leadership during his term as our inaugural Director. He started all this and we are very happy that he will remain on the Executive Committee.
