Post Doctoral Research Position in the Bertagnolli Lab – RI-MUHC

The Bertagnolli laboratory is currently looking for a post doctoral researcher.

POSITION SUMMARY

Postdoctoral Position in Placental Angiogenesis: We are seeking highly motivated applicants for a Postdoctoral Appointment in endothelial cell biology and computational imaging. The Postdoctoral Researcher would join a multidisciplinary team, comprising the research groups of Mariane Bertagnolli at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and Pablo Lamata at Kings College, London, UK. The project is supported by an NFRF Exploration grant. The aim of this project is to develop and validate a 3D model of placental vascularization designed combining human placental endothelial cells and trophoblast cells by creating its computational replica, its digital twin, by a detailed 3D recreation of its cell-cell interactions.

This position is for an initial one-year appointment, renewable for an additional year based on performance. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be trained by team members on essential skills including placental cells extraction and culture, cell physiology (angiogenesis), omics (proteomics and single-cell sequencing), cell imaging (confocal microscopy), image analysis (segmentation, automation) and physiological computational modelling (definition of equations, simulation, parameter fitting). The training includes an international exchange with our team at the King’s College London, providing a great environment for knowledge exchange with different disciplines. State-of-the-art facilities available in the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal (https://rimuhc.ca) and at the CMIB in London (http://cmib.website/) will be used in this project.
