Commercializing Innovation in Regenerative Medicine: From Concept to Launch

The Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM), in collaboration with the McGill Regenerative Medicine Network (MRM Network) and the Office of Innovation and Partnerships at McGill University, will be co-hosting a special webinar on Wednesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. Researchers, clinicians and trainees are invited to attend.
Robin Quirk and Vishan Sivagnanam will introduce CCRM’s unique company creation and incubation programs, provide an overview of its capabilities and services, and highlight important criteria for consideration when developing a commercialization plan.
Drs. Michel Tremblay and Corinne Hoesli from the MRM Network, and Dr. Olivia Novac from the Office of Innovation and Partnerships, will discuss the commercialization services available to researchers.
Following the webinar, attendees can schedule a free consultation with experts at CCRM and McGill to discuss their inventions.
Speakers
Dr. Robin Quirk, Director of Technology Sourcing and Venture Development, CCRM
Robin has over 20 years of experience working within regenerative medicine start-up companies. He started his career as an industry-trained pharmacist before moving into tissue engineering research. Robin joined CCRM to support the commercial development of early-stage ideas. He leads the team responsible for identifying and developing promising technologies and nurturing them to the company creation stage by strategically leveraging CCRM’s expertise and infrastructure. Robin gained his PhD from the University of Nottingham, U.K. He also holds an MBA specializing in healthcare management.
Vishan Sivagnanam, Commercialization Manager, CCRM
Vishan leads CCRM’s strategic support activities for Medicine by Design, a regenerative medicine initiative at the University of Toronto. He brings over a decade of experience in commercializing early-stage discoveries. In his role, he provides tailored commercialization advice to academic investigators including strategic recommendations to inform decisions around translational planning and commercial positioning. He also supports CCRM’s company creation activities. Before joining CCRM in 2018, Vishan was a Business Development Officer at the SickKids Industry Partnerships & Commercialization Office. Vishan has an M.Sc. in neuroimmunology from the University of Toronto and an MBA in entrepreneurship and venture development from the Ted Rogers School of Management.
