Experience MedTech Information Session
The MedTech Talent Accelerator is an NSERC-CREATE collaborative training program between Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), McGill, the University of Calgary, and Dalhousie. The mission of this program is to train a select group of graduate students for careers in the Canadian MedTech sector and to help students secure their first R&D internships in the industry as they complete their Master’s or Ph.D. programs.
Applications for September 2023, January 2024, and May 2024 Experience MedTech internship programs are now open. Please visit their website for more details about the Experience MedTech program, including instructions on applying.
Who should apply to the Experience MedTech program?
1) Be currently enrolled as a graduate student at McGill or Toronto Metropolitan University in any program of study related to MedTech or at the University of Calgary or Dalhousie University in Biomedical Engineering
2) Completed your coursework and research, and will be in the writing phase of your thesis by:
a) August 30th, 2023 (your supervisor must confirm this), to take on a full-time R&D internship with a MedTech company from September 1st, 2023, for a 4-month or 8-month period.
b) December 31st, 2023 (your supervisor must confirm this), to take on a full-time R&D internship with a MedTech company from January 2nd, 2024, for a 4-month or 8-month period.
c) April 30th, 2024 (your supervisor must confirm this), to take on a full-time R&D internship with a MedTech company from May 1st, 2024, for a 4-month or 8-month period.
3) Be ready to accept interviews and internships offered by our MedTech company partners.
Students are allowed to decline a maximum of TWO interview requests and a maximum of ONE internship offer with full justification. After this, the MedTech Talent Accelerator reserves the right to withdraw the student’s application from the Experience MedTech program.
